Jewell Named to Community Service Honor Roll

Community Service Honor Roll
Jewell has been named to the 2012 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with Distinction, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement. Jewell was recognized for its strong institutional commitment to service and compelling campus-community partnerships that produce measurable results.

Faculty, staff and students contributed more than 40,000 hours of community service during the 2010-2011 academic year. Among William Jewell service projects were the Serve & Celebrate, SIFE projects on financial literacy and environmental sustainability, and the Matthew 25 home repair project in Kansas City’s urban core.
